Happy Saturday, everyone!
With it being summer solstice week and all, I know it’s technically time for my Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag, but seeing that I only just mentioned a bunch of my 2024 favorites in The Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag and am still hoping I’ll miraculously read about 50 five-star reads within the next week so that I’ll have something new to recommend to you, we’re postponing that… The freaking-out is in the works, I promise!
Besides, since A Book Owl’s Corner passed the 700-follower mark about three weeks ago and I didn’t ever properly thank you, I feel like that’s definitely overdue! To be honest, I still don’t really understand why so many of you guys are here, especially with me being regularly absent and unoriginal this year, but your support means the world to me. Your heartfelt comments never fail make me smile, the friendships I’ve made on here are something I treasure beyond words, and I’m always thrilled to meet other people from all around the world who are just as excited about reading as I am. So thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart! ๐
Anyway, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a Q&A on this blog – especially a “normal” one where I didn’t heinously make other people answer the questions for me – so I figured, why not give this another go? Anyone who’s a bit newer around here can get to know me better, and those of you who’ve been here since the very beginning or joined somewhere around the way can ask me embarrassing questions they’ve always wanted to know the answers to.
(Okay, well, I might not answer them if they’re too embarrassing, but you get the point!)
So ask away! With my Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag and June wrap-up in the works, you’ve got at least three weeks to keep those queries coming, although I’ll still try my best to answer them in a relatively timely manner. Book-related questions, life-related questions, other-stuff-related questions – whatever you’d like to know! Also, as an added bonus, I figured I’d answer your questions in whatever language you ask them in, provided I can speak it. (Otherwise, I’m just gonna use google translate to read whatever you asked and quite possibly give you an English answer that has absolutely nothing to do with what you wanted to know ๐คช) I mean, I did promise you a language update eventually, right? This is your chance!
Anyway, I’d really love to hear from you, and thanks again, so much, for your support!
Omg omg CONGRATULATIONS for 700+ followers! you reallyyy deserve it!! I’m glad to be a part of them ๐
I’ll send my questions later, but congrats once again!!!๐๐๐

Oooh, thanks for these! They look like a ton of fun to answer! ๐ค
And I hope the homework situation has deescalated a bit by now – it’s so frustrating when you have to do it during the holidays, isn’t it? ๐ Good luck with school once it starts again, though!

And thank YOU for all your great book recommendations over the years! I never would’ve read The Goblin Emperor without you, and I actually also just finished Daughter of the Empire at the beginning of the month and am now desperately trying to access a copy of book two…

That’s all I could come up with this time around, but congratulations on 700 followers!! ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ No need to be confused about why all those people follow you because you’re one of the friendliest and funniest bloggers in community so I perfectly understand why you’re so popular ๐โค๏ธ Looking forward to seeing your answers to all people’s questions!

Well, to tell you the truth, it’s not so much bravery as me panicking over not having anything to post and needing something I could write quickly for today ๐๐ But shhh!
However, are you really making me RANK Graceling characters? ๐ญ I don’t know if that counts as trying to be nice, I love way too many of them!! But you did say all those nice things at the end, so maybe I’ll let it slide… ๐๐

2) Do you have a book you re-read often โ a comfort book?

I’m so glad we discovered each other’s blogs along the way – I couldn’t wish for a better buddy to dissect the Napoleanic Wars or gush about mountains with! ๐ Although I can already tell that mountain question is going to put me through agony – how am I supposed to choose just one favorite?? ๐ญ

Oooh, thanks Lila! I’m so thrilled to have a fellow STEM girl like you in our little corner of the internet and can’t wait to answer your questions! ๐ค Although, gosh, I’m only just realizing how many of the fiction novels featuring people im STEM that I’ve read are about men ๐ I’m gonna have to do some good hard thinking to counteract that a bit! And I love your other questions, too!

I feel nostalgic lol, even though we met here only last year, I’ve grown quite accustomed to reading your posts from covid. And I’m SO thankful that you’re still here.
My q’s:
1) The story behind how you got into being a math teacher.
2) Something you’ve struggled with.
3) Your least favourite subject
4) A book you wish you’d never
read in the first place.
5) One aspiration for your future.
6) An anecdote about failure (academic/non academic- anything really)
7) How are you doing!? ๐
That’s it for now! If I think of more qs I’ll pop in again haha

Question time… It is always hard to come up with them on the spot! ๐
1. If you had the opportunity to adapt a book into a screenplay, writing the script yourself, what book would you pick and why?
2. From two of your least read genres, which one would you rather be the main character in?
3. When did you start exploring nature/going on adventures? Do you have an earliest memory?

Thank you, Sophie! That really means a lot ๐ฅฐ I’m so glad we discovered each other’s blogs along the way! And love the questions – I’m going to have to think carefully and analyze my reading habits in detail to find out what my actual least read genres are! ๐

and well, since youโve offered to answer the questions in any languageโฆ we can check how much google translate can actually help in conversations but i knowwww that it will butcher my tamizh so iโll stick to english ๐

Thanks, Sumedha! ๐ค Love the questions – I’m going to have to think long and hard about my ridiculous blogging experiences now ๐คฃ – and I’m truly flattered you like my posts so much! I guess I just kind of find them uninspired compared to the types of stuff I wrote a few years ago? Like, most of the posts I’ve written this year are either tags, wrap-ups, or something I’ve done before, and I kind of miss the days I’d just randomly wake up and think “Oh, let’s design a really horrible book cover today!” or “Hmm, let’s write a nanowrimo parody filled with all of your least favorite overused book tropes!” or “These disturbing Duolingo sentences really remind me of books, let’s pair them up!”… I’m just kind of itching to write something DIFFERENT – like your latest watch post, for example – but I either don’t have any cool ideas or my ideas are so much work that I immediately postpone them far into the future when I’ll “have more free time” ๐ ๐ I don’t know – maybe that just happens when you’ve been at this for a while? I’m glad you still think my posts are wacky, though! That’s all I’ve ever aspired to achieve! ๐๐
